My past, My future, My everything
The series "My past, My future, My everything" is series about me. My self-portraits, things and people that tell about me and my life. Blue is the color that people associate me with, red is the color that appeals to me the most.
"Tell me "mine" - was written during a period of rethinking my attitude to life, my partner, my family. A few years ago, I entered therapy because I no longer saw the point in my existence. The roles of people in my life have become so mixed up that it has become impossible to distinguish between them. I was lost, I no longer saw the light at the end of the tunnel. I demanded from my husband what I didn’t get from my parents in childhood, completely forgetting that he was my partner, not my father. I felt abandoned and unwanted. I didn't understand the rules of the game at all. I asked for something that they couldn’t give me, I lost myself and my connection with reality.
"Tell me about your 2020, mom" is more than just a piece of art to me; it is my personal story etched onto canvas. In 2020, I resided in Belarus with a glimmer of hope that I wouldn't have to leave my homeland for the sake of my future children. But as circumstances unfolded, I found myself taking to the streets, raising my hand in peaceful protest. The marks on my wrist serve as a lasting reminder of that year - the number 23.34, a symbol of the article for which I was detained during those protests. It stands as a powerful testament to my unwavering commitment to fight for change. Sadly, I am now left without the opportunity to return to my country in the foreseeable future. This artwork encapsulates the complexities of my journey, evoking emotions of longing, resilience, and the profound impact of the events that unfolded in 2020.
"Babushka". The last time I saw her was in 2020. I had a suspicion of covid, and I knew that I was seeing her for the last time in my life. I couldn't even hug her. I never got the courage to tell her that I was leaving for good. She still asks when my business trip ends. I keep saying it's coming soon and crying after she hangs up.
